A Place to Meet

Beautifully Simple. Exposing the essence of the space with no distractions or complications. I can feel the architecture in here. There's a message behind this design intention, and I'd like to hear different interpretations and readings.

Interior Design by Eldridge Smerin Architects

"Do you dream of a living space entirely free of distractions? This inspired interior design from Eldridge Smerin Architects is totally free from unnecessary complications. The Zen-like simplicity will grow on you, as you focus only on the most important thing: the people around you. In this calming environment the cluster of comfortable chairs (in a startling contemporary yellow!) adds intimacy. Stark white walls appear gentler by placing the small windows low down, and adding a commercial light to illuminate the top part of the room. Following the wooden slatted pathway through the pebbled floor serves to symbolically transport you to a different place, with a different focus. An out-of-the-ordinary approach by Eldridge Smerin Architects that cleverly manages to be both challenging and cozy – and a perfect place to make plans…" -Trendir.com-

this reminds me of the complete opposite from what is acclaimed here :)

a death defying house, it is a place where it not defined or under a well known set. it starts as an alien place where people adapt to it afterwords:

At a first glance, the place seems soothing...but the more I imagine myself in such a setting, the more 'noisy' it becomes which leads to what Deema mentioned in the previous comment where people will have to 'adapt' to the plain white walls

There is a reason why people gravitate, or are more comfortable in a 'lived in' space where ideas could easily flow...that is not the case here

It Really seems serene, kind of looks like a garage makeover :P

The orange cushions are a nice touch though, cuz they seem to absorb the light.
